Do you ACCEPT insurance?
Our office does not bill insurance. You may pay by credit/debit card or HSA debit card. We do not participate with Medicare, nor do we bill Medicare for any services rendered.
Why don’t you bill insurance?
When practitioners participate with insurance carriers, they enter into a contract that allows the insurance company to dictate what services will be covered, oftentimes limiting the quality of care that we believe you deserve. Not participating with insurance carriers allows us to provide recommendations with your best interest in mind. It also allows us to provide extended appointment times, and ultimately much more one-on-one time with you, so that we can create a detailed and personalized treatment plan for you.
What states do you serve
At this time, we can serve residents of Connecticut and South Carolina. If you are not a resident of Connecticut or South Carolina, we would still like to connect with you by offering our monthly newsletter, which provides educational content including health tips and recipes. Who is a typical patient?
Our patients vary in complexity and health goals. All of our patients share the common desire to take control of their health. Some of our patients have known chronic disease, and wish to see what can be added to their treatment plan to optimize their health and take steps towards a healthier lifestyle. Many of our patients are otherwise healthy without diagnosed medical conditions, yet they report they “just don’t feel right” and suffer from vague symptoms such as fatigue, brain fog, and insomnia despite a previously negative medical workup. Utilizing an integrative and functional medicine approach allows us to take an in-depth look into lifestyle factors and nutritional status that may be the root cause of those vague symptoms.
What do your treatments entail?
Our recommendations focus on lifestyle intervention. There is an emphasis on nutrition, exercise/movement, sleep, stress reduction and gut health. Together, we will create a personalized wellness plan. Our in-depth appointments allow for the creation of a trusting patient-practitioner relationship, which is a valuable tool in health promotion and healing. Our goal is to guide you on your journey towards optimal wellness and we are committed to providing our best tools and education to help you reach your health and wellness goals.
Are you my primary care physician?
No, our practice does not function as a primary care medical practice. You are required to have a primary care physician for annual physical exams/wellness visits, after hours, and urgent care purposes. We do not respond to urgent requests, including messages or phone calls – and urgent medical questions or requests must be directed to your primary care physician.
Do you offer in-person visits?
Our practice is 100% telemedicine (virtual appointments using HIPAA compliant video conferencing).
